I am a serious fan of Target’s recent fashion collabs. Target’s latest collaboration with designer Kate Young is nothing to scoff at. I love the bright colors and the girlish flair! The whole collaboration screams I am ready for WARM WEATHER! Prices range from $15 – $90. The collection drops on April 14th in-store and www.target.com.

Below are some of my favorite pieces!

Do you like any of the pieces from the Target X Kate Young collab?

These shoes are too good not to buy and it is ALREADY open-toe, bare-leg season here where I live in Mexico.

Get them here. Happy almost Friday! Tonight I am going out with my ladies and doing some Crossfit right after work.

I think that most people who enjoy fashion tend to focus on specific fashion Meccas (Prague, Paris, New York) but the truth is that there are plenty of places in the world that have bourgeoning with talented designers and lines. I think that Canada is definitely overlooked. One of my favorite blogs, I.LOVE T.O.  introduced me to Outclass. There Autumn/Winter 2012 collection is full of designs that take menswear to awhole new stratosphere. The looks are detailed, diverse, and each look says. “I am a modern man.” My favorite pieces, the bomber jacket. The jacket is chic, uses the 2012 leather trend effectively, and has lots detailing.

What else could you ask for men?

high quality fabric selection. Take a look at the pics, and pay close attention to the details.

Fashion Attack: Portraits of Some of the Best Dressed Men in Africa, The Swenkas

There is something about African men. Yes, I may be biased since my family is from Ghana, but it is the way they carry themselves. Even when times are tough and things get hard, attitude is what makes the most difference. Like the Swenkas (which I assume is derived from the word ”swank”) carry the weight of the world but also undeniable swagger, cockiness, and unbelivable style. From the color of their suits, to their wide smiles, these men have it.

There is no way you could deny that The Swenkas got it right. I dare you to say otherwise.

Portraits of some of The Swenkas of Johannesburg, photographed by Marc Shoul, men who dress up every Saturday night, in their Sunday best, and compete in a mixture of fashion of choreography for prizes and prestige.

Fashion Attack! Esther Quek, Women Taking Menswear to Another Level

Can I introduce you to the fashionable Esther Quek, fashion editor for The Rake, a men’s style and luxury magazine?

I tried to look for something that would adqequately describe her style and these eleven words do it better than I ever could.

If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun. - Katharine Hepburn.

As one of her admires said, “Ladies, tired of dresses? Quek it & suit-up!” Want more fashion inspiration of Ester? Click here.

Now that I have a large relatively sterile place (while temporary) I am always looking for ways to make it my own. I am a person that loves bright colors and loud prints. After browsing one of my favorite blogs, African Prints in Fashion, I loved the post about interior design! Surprisigly enough, (I have ceased buying clothing, jewelry, and shoes for myself) I have dedicated a large amount of my salary to decorating my home. I am hoping that Mr. Bannis’ designs are going to be a mainstay in my home!

Read more about my new favorite interior designer…

My Ghanaian Culture: Ghanaian-Canadaian Designer, Yaw “Tony” Asante Takes Fabric to Another Level

Architect | Painter | Illustrator | Furniture | Designer of Many Things
Ghanaian graphic designer Yaw “Tony” Asante,  is based in Toronto, Canada.

“Heart of Toronto based artist and born with the gift to create and form amazing art, Yaw mastersin architecture, visual arts, photography, illustration, graphic design andplays with carpentry. Hedabbles in all the arts, except he can’t sing or act but he loves being able todo what he does with his talents to create solutions for his clients.”

When I have finished my career in public service I am headed straight for a career in textiles. The attention to detail, explosive use of color, and brillance of his textiles is what really drew me to Yaw’s fabric prints. The prints are unique but still have West African feel.

Fashion Attack! JOSH GOOT RESORT 2013

Inspired by the Great Barrier Reef, >Josh GootResort 2013 has brought together beautiful color and vibrant designs. His collection is an awesome display of coral pinks and ocean blues, which craftfully display prints derived from the reef and its underwater species.

Goot’s designs have a sporty aesthetic with strong silhouettes. “Cropped jackets and flirty skater skirts are reminiscent of the iconic flamenco dresses and bull fighter costumes, both native to Spain. Minimal with an appropriate amount of shock value.” via  wetheurban

Fashion Attack! MTV’s True Life, I’m Going to New York Fashion Week!

Are you going through NYFW withdrawal? I am! I was just in New York earlier this month and my sister reminded me of this episode. I am so glad that it is still on MTV’s website. This episode of True Life debuted in 2008, and follows Stefanie, Jaime, and Cassie as they work on shows for the fashion industry’s largest stage: New York Fashion Week.

I also think this is the first introduction of Kelly Cutrone’s People’s Revolution to the MTV audience.

I am obsessed with documentaries that feature the real lives of regular people.  If you have obsession like I do check out The Moth, This American Life and more episodes of MTV True Life series.

You walk differently in high heels … the shoe has to be light, beautifully centered, the heel balanced, perfection. And this is what attracts me to somebody who knows how to walk in high heels.

Manolo Blahnik, in a new profile in The New York Times

Happy Friday!

I am extra late posting these pictures, so I’m just going to share them without any commentary!

Mr. Doonan told me to never change. You bet your ass you will see more 6 inch heels, bright colors, and dresses on my blog. I have no problem taking his advice! For more information about the event read on here!
