Fashion Attack! SUPREME LEATHER CAMP CAPS
“Today Supreme updated its online store with a series of cool products from its Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Among the new caps were also these new badass leather camp caps.” Via wetheurban
Sorry for the lazy post, your girl is still not feeling well at all…

These shoes are too good not to buy and it is ALREADY open-toe, bare-leg season here where I live in Mexico.

Get them here. Happy almost Friday! Tonight I am going out with my ladies and doing some Crossfit right after work.
Fashion Attack! CLOT x SSUR GUTTER Store Hong Kong Boss and Channel Zero New Releases
“CLOT x SSUR GUTTER STORE now present new items from its “HK BOSS” and “CHANNEL ZERO” range. SSUR’s ironic take on high fashion has perhaps opened the discussion between street scenes and the runway, echoing the way two generations fight to understand each other. The latest release takes more than a few cues from other well-known fashion houses. The CHANNEL ZERO releases include T-Shirts and hoodies, while the HK BOSS also add snapbacks and beanies, all of which are offered in an all-black colorway. The lookbook was captured in Hong Kong and was modeled by Lung Gor and Ann Hong.”

Bish get into these promo pictures! I live.
Living and working as a U.S. Diplomat has it’s certain quirks. One of which is shipping your life and things around every two-three years around the world. It is an easy process when it comes to packing. In my experience moving from Chicagoland to DC, then DC to Mexico was a breeze. All I had to do was label what I wanted in long-term storage (things that I want to stay in a warehouse outside of DC), what I wanted to arrive immediately (unaccompanied air luggage, and arrives in the first 2-3 weeks), the larger items that take much longer to arrive and needs to clear foreign customs household goods), and the packers did all of the packing, labeling, and heavy lifting. Thank the lord!
While waiting for the bulk of my things to arrive, I can usually make do. I don’t need that much to live. However, my dilemma is the weather. Now that I live in Mexico where the weather is always pleasant, I get a lot of use out of my warm weather clothing. However, my family and boyfriend live in colder climates (Chicago and DC respectively). When I was moving from DC in August, I forgot to pack warm weather clothes. I just assummed when I packed that after my eighth week in Mexico the bulk of my household goods and warm weather clothing would have arrived already.
When I went to visit DC and Chicago last week, I realized I had no warm clothes! Thankfully, Gilt.com came to my rescue! Gilt.com is having an awesome Fall clothing sale right now!
I ordered:
1. The Karen Zambos Vintage Couture Oversize Wrap. Possibly the chicest wrap known to mankind.

2. 525 America Knit Cable Sweater. OMG this sweater is cozy. It is like wearing a comforter all day. I will treat this baby with extreme love and care.

3. French Connection Winter Warmer Sweater. While this sweater isn’t the coziest, it is the perfect color for warm fall days. It is also perfect for when the weather is not too cold and not too warm.

Sadly, these sweaters arrived after I came back from my trips to DC and Chicago. Such is life.
I think that most people who enjoy fashion tend to focus on specific fashion Meccas (Prague, Paris, New York) but the truth is that there are plenty of places in the world that have bourgeoning with talented designers and lines. I think that Canada is definitely overlooked. One of my favorite blogs, I.LOVE T.O. introduced me to Outclass. There Autumn/Winter 2012 collection is full of designs that take menswear to awhole new stratosphere. The looks are detailed, diverse, and each look says. “I am a modern man.” My favorite pieces, the bomber jacket. The jacket is chic, uses the 2012 leather trend effectively, and has lots detailing.
What else could you ask for men?

Fashion Attack: Portraits of Some of the Best Dressed Men in Africa, The Swenkas
There is something about African men. Yes, I may be biased since my family is from Ghana, but it is the way they carry themselves. Even when times are tough and things get hard, attitude is what makes the most difference. Like the Swenkas (which I assume is derived from the word ”swank”) carry the weight of the world but also undeniable swagger, cockiness, and unbelivable style. From the color of their suits, to their wide smiles, these men have it.
There is no way you could deny that The Swenkas got it right. I dare you to say otherwise.
Portraits of some of The Swenkas of Johannesburg, photographed by Marc Shoul, men who dress up every Saturday night, in their Sunday best, and compete in a mixture of fashion of choreography for prizes and prestige.

Since moving to Mexico it seems that I am missing some really exciting DC fall fashion events. This one was actually close to where I used to live when I was a DC area resident.
All Access Fashion, an annual series of events is happening exclusively at my favorite mall, Tysons Galleria in McLean, VA.
If you think DC isn’t a fashion force to be seen/heard, you have another thing coming! Please go out and enjoy this event for me.

While I can participate in my usual blogger events from where I live in Mexico but I will be living through my friends and blogger buddies around the world! Fashion Night Out (FNO) is GLOBAL!
The evening events include special limited-edition products, free nibbles and bubbly, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances in iconic stores, salons, and boutiques.
Fashion Attack! My First Chanel Purse
“Luxury is a necessity that begins where necessity ends.” Coco Chanel
I have no idea when my love of Chanel products developed. I think it started when I was young, around the age of 10 when I was determined to become a fashion designer. I wanted to read about the most determined, elegant, successful designers in the world, so naturally, I started with Chanel.
She was amazing! Persistent, determined, glamorous, and iconic! Early last week when I finished the hardest part of my career training and saved my pennies, I finally decided to purchase my first Chanel.
The purse I finally decided on is truly a gem. It’s look is subtle, it’s craft work unique, and it’s elegance speaks for itself. Yes, it seems like I am worshiping a false idol. However, I am holding a piece of motivation, a piece of my childhood idol. While I did not purse becoming a designer, I did pursue my live of public service. I think that I have done pretty well for myself.
I love Ankara print (aka what most akatas/obrunis call TRIBAL and it makes my skin crawl) anything. I know that ankara print has a mixed history because of its true “Africanness” however, I still love it! I try to go visit Ghana (where my parents are from) every year to re-up on my ankara printed dresses but if I can get ankara products in the United States, I do!
A few months ago, I fell in love with these beauties!

They are the Aldo Mendosa Sandals! Let me warn you, these shoes are NOT for people who are scared of heights!
A lattice-weave platform perfects the tropical chic of an ankle-wrap sandal emboldened with graphic prints.
I purchased my pair via ASOS (now sold out) after waiting for the shoes to go on SALE for months. I also purchased them when ASOS had a rare coupon code! But, alas you can still purchase these beauties via Nordstrom!
I never really understand why people say they don’t follow trends. We all follow trends. Nothing is wrong with taking a trend and making it your own. In fact, one Spring 2012 trend that I am really digging is NEON!
You may not be as bold as I am (all of my clothes are obscenely loud colors) but jumping into this trend can be achieved by incorporating an accessory into your wardrobe. Wallis makes this amazing Lime Statin Box Clutch bag. It is made with a Lime Statin. It is a covered hard box clutch bag with a chain strap so the bag can be worn across the body. 100% Polyurethane. To take care of stains and accidents just wipe it clean. Jump into the neon trend!
Ever since I returned from my two week trip to Ecuador last month, I have been thinking about how to properly display the beauty of this necklace I purchased in Otavalo. I bargained the price down low enough from a women with a jewelry stall near the main market entrance.
I decided to pair the necklace with a dress I purchased from a Australian company, Wallis. My necklace is from the Artisanal Market in Otavalo, Ecuador. My bracelet is from the Accra Art Market.

Isn’t my little poodle the sweetest?
Fashion Attack! Marc Jacobs Resort 2012
I am all about bright patterns, textures, and lengths that MJ has presented in his newest Resort collection. The mix of stacked heels, plunging necklines and peak-a-boo backs of his casual yet high-end gowns are astounding. The colors would look great on any skin tone and any body type.
What do you think of the collection? Is his latest collection a miss or a hit?

Last Thursday, I attended the launch of SNOBSWAP, a new online luxury consignment boutique from D.C. natives Elise Whang and Emily Dang. Users can sell their luxury clothing, accessories, and shoes or buy items from other Washingtonians’ closets. To celebrate the company’s launch, the sisters held a Swap & Sip party at Tari. Guests sipped beautiful cocktails and nibbled on rich small bites.

Overall, this was a great event. I am so glad I finally made it to Georgetown since I haven’t been since I moved back to DC in September of last year…
