These shoes are too good not to buy and it is ALREADY open-toe, bare-leg season here where I live in Mexico.
Get them here. Happy almost Friday! Tonight I am going out with my ladies and doing some Crossfit right after work.
While most of my friends are freezing and suffering through the last couple months of winter in the United States, I am not. Living in Mexico, the worst of the winter weather passed. I have put away my winter jackets, snow boots, and tights. And yes, it actually snows in some parts of Mexico.
I am ready to dust off my spring frocks and shoes and get into spring trends! As a lover of fashion I am perfectly okay following trends. I embrace trends. Fashion is trends. People who say don’t follow trends are usually lying. It doesn’t make you less trendy to be aware of trends and actually follow them. I promise. You will NOT lose your fashion street cred.
To identify the latest 2013 trends, I looked to the fashion news bible, Women’s Wear Daily. There search function revealed the lastest looks that we should all look foward to!
SPRING 2013 Trends (click here for more information). Below are some of my favorites!
My favoritest trend? Animal and Wild.
ASOS is doing it with this look. Best of all? It is only $25USD.
I learned the amazingness that is Aldo Rise sometime early last year. Ever since then I have been obessed. I purchased my first pair of Aldo Rise Preen for ALDO RISE Paider Sandal a couple of weeks ago and I think they are a work of art!
I love the structure of the heel, the careful leather detailing, the fringe along the back, the ankle strap…swoon.
My newest obession is the ALDO RISE JW Anderson for ALDO RISE Eakins Sandal. I have not been able to find it at all.
I love the pop of color, the white string detailing, the fuzzy back detailing. The shoe is weird and lovely at the same DAMN time.
If you find these shoes in a EUR 40 or US 10. Please let me know! You wouldn’t want to make a fashion girl suffer for no reason would you?
Since moving to Mexico it seems that I am missing some really exciting DC fall fashion events. This one was actually close to where I used to live when I was a DC area resident.
All Access Fashion, an annual series of events is happening exclusively at my favorite mall, Tysons Galleria in McLean, VA.
If you think DC isn’t a fashion force to be seen/heard, you have another thing coming! Please go out and enjoy this event for me.
When it comes to clothes I usually need one of these descriptions involved: short, black, and backless. It is rare when I find a piece that fits all three pre-requisites!
The Playsuit with Mex Tex Embroidery is now $37.28. It is the perfect piece for a chill night out! I wore it during a night out to Lost Society DC. My favorite aspect of the playsuit are the sleeves! They are light enough for a hot night out but can still protect you from bug bites when you venture out to rooftop parties.
I paired the outfit with my favorite strappy Michael Kors Sandals and Forever 21 Feather earrings.
I never really understand why people say they don’t follow trends. We all follow trends. Nothing is wrong with taking a trend and making it your own. In fact, one Spring 2012 trend that I am really digging is NEON!
You may not be as bold as I am (all of my clothes are obscenely loud colors) but jumping into this trend can be achieved by incorporating an accessory into your wardrobe. Wallis makes this amazing Lime Statin Box Clutch bag. It is made with a Lime Statin. It is a covered hard box clutch bag with a chain strap so the bag can be worn across the body. 100% Polyurethane. To take care of stains and accidents just wipe it clean. Jump into the neon trend!
Ever since I returned from my two week trip to Ecuador last month, I have been thinking about how to properly display the beauty of this necklace I purchased in Otavalo. I bargained the price down low enough from a women with a jewelry stall near the main market entrance.
I decided to pair the necklace with a dress I purchased from a Australian company, Wallis. My necklace is from the Artisanal Market in Otavalo, Ecuador. My bracelet is from the Accra Art Market.
Isn’t my little poodle the sweetest?

I don’t really have much to say but here is what I wore:
What Shecky’s Girls Night Out?
It is an event where women over the age of 21 can discover unique designers, sip delectable drinks, and cap the night with some pretty pampering and glorious Goodie Bags! For more information visit the site.
I don’t why it has take me so long to post these pictures of this event. It seems all of the photos fell into the abyss of my computer files.
Anyway, earlier this month I attended a Fashion Show hosted by the Howard University Law School Fashion Law Association at O Street Mansion in DC. Since it was a fashion oriented event, I wanted to wear something loud!
My favorite vintage item is my mom’s Lepoard Print Silk Dress from the early 90s that she bought on a trip to California.

I am not sure how many events I have worn it to but I do know is that every time I wear it feels different. The first time I wore it in 2010, I needed a serious tummy control top. However, two years later I have I maintained the same weight (152-155lbs) but the dress fits better! The only difference is that I have added more weightlifting into my workout routine. Read more about why women NEED to add weight training to their exercise routine. My body and this article proves you do will not get “bulky” or “manly”.
My first time wearing the dress in 2010. What a difference!
I am proud to say that I no longer just focus on the number on the scale!
What I Wore:
Shout out to my bra in the last picture! It wanted to join in on the picture action. It would have helped if I went to Sylene DC for a specialty bra :/
The Ultimate Good girl gone WILD.

One of Nine West’s most popular shoes of Fall 2011 are now $29.70 (originally $99.00) and they are offering free shipping. Click here to purchase these shoes. They are perfect for day or night. Best part is, the heel is chunky enough that they won’t get caught between sidewalk grooves :) My pair arrived already!
This past weekend I headed to Chicago to visit my parents. My sister, who lives in New York, and I planned the trip so we could be at home at the same time. The trip was too short but really enjoyable! On the way home from running some errands my mom told me that a new upscale consignment shop opened so I had to check it out! The store is called Beautiful, Again.
After I purchased this vintage hand beaded blouse for a very low cost, I wanted to wear it out immediately! Later that night, I had my chance to wear this bedazzled jewel! My mom, sister, a group of college friends and their mothers, and I had a mother daughter dinner at Ruby of Siam. I highly recommend the fried tofu (make sure you get it extra spicy) and the Ruby Noodles with tofu. It was such a delicious meal and a great way to catch up with everyone!

What I Wore:
Night out on the town. The weather has been so great in DC that I wanted to celebrate by wearing a frock that is definitely outside of my normal “wear”. But it is a new year to try new things! I usually hate fish tail skirts but this dress just works for me.
This dress has so many interesting dimensions. It has a fish tail, a cris-cross tie up in the front, a floral print, ruffles, and a racer back.
What I Wore:
Of course my pup wanted to get in the picture again! Step outside of the fashion box in 2012! Wear something that you love, not because it is a trend, not because it is safe…wear it because you love it!
