I used to be a dedicated Forever 21 addict. First, I started out with buying their clothes, but the items I purchased never lasted too long. Then, I moved on to their shoes, which lasted a season or two. I wised up and started buying only their accessories, but you can imagine how long a “gold” plated necklace lasts…

I was browsing one of my favorite blogs, Stylish Petite, just did a review on a really great Camel Crossbody bag from Forever 21. She was equally as shocked about the quality of the bag. Sadly, the crossbody bag is sold out! However, I found some really great alternatives!

What I Wore:

When is the last time you’ve seen a grown women wear jellies?

This past weekend I headed to Chicago to visit my parents. My sister, who lives in New York, and I planned the trip so we could be at home at the same time. The trip was too short but really enjoyable! On the way home from running some errands my mom told me that a new upscale consignment shop opened so I had to check it out! The store is called Beautiful, Again.

After I purchased this vintage hand beaded blouse for a very low cost, I wanted to wear it out immediately! Later that night, I had my chance to wear this bedazzled jewel! My mom, sister, a group of college friends and their mothers, and I had a mother daughter dinner at Ruby of Siam. I highly recommend the fried tofu (make sure you get it extra spicy) and the Ruby Noodles with tofu. It was such a delicious meal and a great way to catch up with everyone!

What I Wore:

On Thursday night, I attended the Washington, DC Refinery 29 X South Moon Under Let’s Holiday Party. Click here to see my recap. I decided to be a bit more dressy because I was going to dinner afterward. I’m pictured with the Social Media specialist for SMU! She was so fab!

What I Wore:

Dress: H&M Conscious Collection

Earrings: Forever 21

Purse: Kate Spade

Happy Hour is NEVER a Game in DC, so I had to dress prepared to win. I wanted to show my sister and friend a good time in DC. We hit up the Park at 14th.  The food is decent fare and the drink specials are pretty good ($3 from 5-7pm).  We had a gooooood time.

One of my favorite outfits of the summer and the summer season has hardly even begun!

Remember when I blogged about these amazing shorts from Forever 21? Don’t remember? Click here to view/purchase them.

Who wears short shorts?! I do.

Shorts, necklace, and tank-top from Forever 21

Shoes: (not shown) Michael Kors

These pictures were taken at my post-masters degree graduation (see pictures of my graduation here) celebration at Tryst Lounge in Downtown Denver. Yes, I was doing the mostest.

Well, I bought them. I love the shorts because they are made of lightweight fabric, they are a different take on the frayed jean short trend, and the color is perfect for dark skinned women. To date they are the most perfect shorts I have ever owned. I think before I purchased them I had not worn shorts in at least 8 years (I don’t count wearing shorts to work out). Welcome summer!

I STILL can not believe that graduate school is over. Now that it is over I still have to go to work. I have got to make that money honey!

Dress: Forever 21 (You can purchase it here for only US$26.90) I am in love with the belt.

Earrings: Forever 21

Sandals: Target

Total Cost: Approximately $40
